‘Our Tiwi students are the hope of the future’
Xavier Catholic College, which is located at Wurrumiyanga on Bathurst Island, was opened in 1932. Originally established as a boys’ school, Xavier Catholic College now offers coeducational education for students from Year 7 to Year 13. Year 13 is a flexible course of study for students of any age to complete credits towards the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training. More than 100 students attend the school, which is managed by the Catholic Education Office. Xavier’s motto is to provide a quality Catholic Tiwi education and the rules for its students include staying safe, respecting everyone and learning every day.
